AS REGARD THE JAPANESE-KOREAN CONVERSATION, SINCE ITS RE-OPENING ON AUGUST 12 THE LEGAL STATUS COMMITTEE AND THE FISHERY COMMITTEE HAVE BEEN AT WORK. THE REPATRIATION OF KOREAN RESIDENTS IN JAPAN TO NORTH KOREA IS ABOUT TO BEGIN, THE WINDOWS FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS HAVING BEEN OPENED AS FROM SEPT. 21. London Embassy Issues Statement on Deportation Scheme
London, Oct. 28(AP)--South Korea 's Embassy said Wednesday President Syngman Rhee's Government will encourage a mass migration of Koreans from Japan to south Korea.
But the south Koreans insisted that the Japanese must pay compensation for the cost of this movement of population and the resettlement of the estimated 600,000 repatriates.
The Embassy's statement dealt with the Japanese-south Korean talks now in progress in Tokyo on the differences between the two countries including the repatriation issue.
The Embassy accused Japan of preparing to put pressure on these people to migrate to Communist north Korea -a development which would be bitterly opposed by south Korean authorities. Questioning Japan 's good faith, the Embassy said that in this matter "Japan cries wine and sells vingar."
Fact-finding Team to Laos Find Evidence of Intervention
United Nations, Oct. 28(AP)--A subcommittee of the U.N. Security Council on the trouble in Laos has finding trip it made to that country.
Diplomatic sources, reporting this Wednesday, said their impression was that the four-nation subcommittee found evidence of "intervention but no agression"on the part of north Viet Nam.
The 11-nation council set up the group Sept. 7. That was four days after Laos complained that she was the victim of north Viet Nam had been sending arms and food to Laotian rebels and had thrown its troops and artillery into an attack Aug. 30 on Laotian frontier posts.
Robert D. Murphy Expresses Rasignation as Undersecretary of State
Washington, Oct. 28(AP)--Robert D. Murphy, Ameraca's top professional diplomat, has submitted his resignation as Undersecretary of State and plans to enter private business early next year.
The White House is expected to announce President Eisenhower 's acceptance of Murphy 's retirement plan later Wednesday's or Thursday. Murphy conferred with the President Tuesday and told friends of his decision.
