The Third Plenary Session of the Preliminary Talks for the Fifth Korea-Japan Overall Talks
The third plenary session of the Preliminary Talks for the Fifth Korea-Japan Overall Talks was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at 11:00 a.m. on December 21, 1960.
At this meeting Dr. Sawada said that on the whole the Preliminary Talks proceeded satisfactorily, particularly the "Committee on Legal Status of Korean Residents in Japan" having made a substantial progress.
Dr. Yu responded by stating that he regretted that views could not have been thoroughly exchanged on all the problems as the Korean side has originally hoped to do, but he felt it was noteworthy that certain points which had not been even touched upon in the past nice years were discussed during the course of the present Preliminary Talks.
It was agreed to adjourn the plenary session as well as the meetings of various committees and sub-committees. It was tentatively decided to hold the next plenary session on January 25 next year.
