FOR IMFORMATION No.314
Your Excellency,
As previously reported, an starting out tomorrow morning early to go to Mackinac Island, Michigan to address the Moral Rearmament International Conference, particularly on the subject of Korea -Japan relations and the Japanese Governmental behavior.
After giving very careful thought, decided it would be an opportunity to present to such important international leaders the views of Korea on this very vital issue - the status of Korean residents in Japan and other problems which exist between Korea and Japan.
Your Excellency will notice that I am dealing with this questions a little more diplomatically, rather than by bombastic methods in order to show that we Koreans will always be willing to settle the question in a spirit of give-and-take, at the same time pointing out Japan's intransigence and unwillingness to settle all the existing problems in a fair and just manner.
The following morning, August 7th, I shall probably have to get up before dawn to start out for Tulsa, Oklahoma, because I am scheduled to speak that evening before the Christian crusades national conference as the Keynote speaker; they are anxious for me to stay there for several days and participate in other parts of the program, but due to my very heavy schedule here and a speaking engagement before the Kiwanis Club here in Washington an them 13th as well as the reception to be held by my very good friends, Mr, and Mrs. Dewey Zirkin in the evenings of that day in the interest of the Korse. Society, I shall have to rush back the following day, Saturday, for Washington.
I am enclosing a copy of eash of the two speeches; one before the Moral Rearmament and the other before the Christian Crusade.
Your Excellency will also be interested to know that in Tulsa, I shall have the opportunity to appear before the America people on radio and television broadcasts in addition to giving the main address.
With renewed sentiments and loyalty
and esteem, I remain,
