COMMANDER IN CHIEF
COMMANDER IN CHIEF
1 October 1954
Dear Mr. Minister :
This will acknowledge receipt of your letter dated September 9, 1954 outlining the bases for actions taken by your Government to conserve fishery resources.
Conservation of fishery resources in the Japan Sea is a subject upon which the Governments of the Republic of Korea and Japan have been unable to reach an amicable agreement, but it is my hope that this issue, together with other existing disputes, may be speedily resolved after negotiations between the parties concerned. Since your letter involves questions pertaining to international relations, I am taking the liberty of forwarding it to the interested agencies of my Government.
