Record of the Proceedings of the Committee on Vessles
The 18th meeting of the "Committee on Vessels" was held on December 10, 1951 at the Ministry of Transportation office.
With regard to the request made by the Korean side in connection with agenda (al that "there are a good many vessels registered in Korea as of August 9, 1945 in addition to those in the list as formerly presented by the Japanese side," the Japanese side requested the other side to submit an additional list of such vessels.
The Japanese side finally confirmed that the present circumstances made it impossible to make a conclusion about agenda (a) requested by the Korean side before the whole agenda are discussed.
Next, the Korean side requested the other side to take necessary measures for securing the status an of September 11, 1951 of those vessels registered in Korea as of August 9, 1945 which should be returned to Korea in accordance with SCAPIN, against which the Japanese side answered that they were taking measures to comply with the request.
In respect to the progress of the proceedings of the meeting, the Japaness side proposed that the Korean side present the additional list in connection with agenda (a), then the deliberation be made on agenda (b), (c) and (d) on the whole, and after the whole aspect of the requests by the both parties is clarified, the decisive and final conclusion be made.
