The 21st session of sub-committee on Vessels was held at 3 P.M. on November 25, 1958 and next meeting will be held at 3 P.M. on December 2, 1958.
At today's meeting, our side requested again that the Japanese side should give us a reply regarding the first list of the vessels falling within the scope of Agenda A presented previously. Japanese side firmly maintained that it wishes to proceed with the matter under Agenda B and then Agenda C and D subsequently, stating both sides are of conflicting views regarding the legal basis of the Korean claims under Agenda A. The Japanese side held the position that a conclusive decision would be made regarding the overall problems of vessels after discussing all the 4 Agenda items of the sub-committee.
Our side reiterated our stand that the sub-committee should settle first the problem under Agenda A and only thereafter it could proceed with the matter under Agenda B. Under the above impasse, the Government's instructions on how to proceed this sub-committee would be highly appreciated.
