Record of Proceedings of the "Committee on Vessels"
The 27th meeting of the "Committee on Vessels" was held at 10.00 a.m. on 25 January 1952 at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In succession to the previous meeting, both sides agreed to discuss the proof-evidences for the vessels which are coming into agenda (b) and agenda (d),
First, the Korean side gave au explanation on the 'water-supply diary' for 39 commercial ships as well as on the Inventory delivered to Korea by the Japanese officials of the operating agency of the Hiroshima regional railway bureau and the Certificates of nationality and inspection for Nos. 2 and 4 Tetsusi Maru. The Korean side also explained the statement: of Mr. Kyokichi Ariyoshi concerning the return of 12 fishing vessels to Korea.
Second, in reply to the question of the Japanese side as to why the Korean side proposed the reservation of submitting some additional list in respect to agenda (b), the Korean side explained as follows: The motive of such a proposal is that those vessels in the list submitted for agenda (b), to which water was supplied only at Pusan, are part of all the Japanese vessels which were located in Korean waters on or aftar 9 August 1945.
This proposal was accepted by the Japanese side.
Finally, the Korean side asked the other side what is its reason for the demand of the return to Japan of the fishing vessels related to agenda (a), to which it promised to answer later on.
