This is the edition for deportation of Korean residents in Japan to the Communist held northern part of Korea, following the pamplet published in December,1959.
Minister Kim's letter dated on January 29,1960, to President he reported, "On the 28th he was informed that he found a evidence that a Korean girl ,20 years old, was forcefully taken by members of the Communist League and sent to the northern part of Korea at the time of the fourth deportation. Minister Kim immediately invited the attention of the I.C.R.C. to this fact and once again demanded that their mission in Tokyo should withdraw from Japan.
Councillor Chin in Korean Mission in Japan met Mr.Durand, Chief of I.C.R.C. Mission, at the Imperial Hotel on February 3,and at the meeting Chin pointed out that the JRC was keeping secret not only names of "registrants" but also names of those who had already been deported to northern part of Korea and recently even the number of "registrants and asked Durand whether this "keep secret "policy was taken by the JRC with the knowledge of ICRC mission. In reply Durand stated that he could not give direct answer to us but he would look into the matter with JRC and then,if necessary, would study the matter by referring it to the committee in Geneva.
On February 2, the Japan Red Cross yesterday notified the North Korea red Cross that the eighth group of Korean repatriates to north Korea would leave Niigata Feb.12. And the former requested the latter to send repatriation ships to Niigata by Feb.10 to pick up the returnees.
Chief of the ICRC Mission in Japan Andre Durand advised the JRC 's Central Committee for Repatriation Chairman Hassai on January 19th that "the Soren is applying too strong an influence upon the would-be-applicants at the time of filling repatriation applications,"that "the applications should be filed at the individual's free will,"and that "the JRC should take proper measures to eliminate the interventions by outside organizations."
