Dear Mr. President,
We are in receipt of two of your letters dated February 26, 1957 with the enclosed memorandums concerning Korean nationals interned in Japan and Japanese interned in Korea ; and Korean nationals residing in Japan and in Korea, who wish to find a home of their choice on Korean soil.
In respect of the Korean residents in Japan and internees in both countries, we cannot take any action pending formal understandings between Japan and Korea are formally undertaken.
Please be assured, Mr. president, that we are trying our best to cooperate.
