3. Gist of Talks:
Dr. Sawada:
Since the drafting of the official summary records of the previous plenary sessions has not been finalized yet, we would not be able to confirm them at today's plenary session.
Now, I would like to inform your side that, since Mr. Nishimura's post in the Fishery Agency has been changed (promoted to the Chief of the same Agency), Mr, Yasuhiko Takahashi who has been newly appointed Deputy Director of the same Agency will replace Mr, Nishimura as a member of the Japanese Delegation in charge of the fisheries and Peace Line affairs, of which a formal decision will be made at today's cabinet meeting.
I wonder if you have anything to state ?
Mr. Huh:
I have not anything to say particularly, but, if you had, we would like to hear it.
Dr. Sawada:
Now 'that the Committee on Legal Statue of Korean Residents in Japan is carrying out its works, I would like to suggest that other Committees resume their works along with the legal status committee.
Mr. Huh:
No objection.
Dr. Sawada:
Have you any idea as to when and what committees resume their works ?
Mr. Huh:
I would like to suggest that various committees resume their works as soon as feasible. If you have no objection, I would like to suggest that the details concerning the resumption of various committees be arranged between Mr. Yiu and Mr. Iseki representing both sides.
Dr. Sawada:
I have no objection to your suggestion, since it seems to be in accord with my proposal for setting up a "Steering Committee" at a previous plenary session.
Mr. Huh:
I would like to inform you that Dr. Yu will take a trip to Seoul on September 12 (Saturday) after attending the Legal Status Committee meeting on September 11, in order to observe his daughter's wedding. He will stay in Seoul for about 10 days. Therefore, during Dr. Yu's absence, Mr. Choi will act as chief member of the Korean side at the Legal Status Committee.
Dr. Sawada:
(Bowing) I would like to express congratulations to Dr. Yu on behalf of the Japanese Delegation.
