The third session of the Sub-Committee on Other Claims regarding general claims was held at 10 a.m. on December 17 at the Japanese Foreign Ministry. Next meeting was tentatively decided to be held on December 24.
Our side stated at this meeting that though, in accordance with the agreed minutes of December 31, 1957, the same 8 items of Korean claims as submitted at the previous talks should be the subject of discussions at the Sub-Committee, this Committee would take up those items minus those on art objects, since the matter on art objects was already under discussions at another place. The Japanese side answered that, the Japanese chief member Shoji was absent at this meeting attending the Diet session, it is unable to give a prompt reply thereto, but that it would put forth reply at the next session after studying our statement.
