Summary Record of the First Session of the Claims Committee
1. Date, time and place:
February 20th (Wednesday), 1952 14:15 hours-15:00 hours
At Room No. 419, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

3. Address:
Mr. LIMB, Delegate of the Korean Delegation gave an address, as per Annex 1.
4. Proceedings:
(1) The procedural matters were discussed and the following were decided:
a. Concrete proposals should be made at the sub-committee, except especially important matters to be presented at the plenary session upon agreement by both Delegations.
b. Japanese, Korean and English languages would be used as official languages at this committee.
c. Summary records would be prepared in English alternately by both Delegations and the responsible officials would be Mr. Ohtori KURINO, Secretary of the Asian Affairs Bureau, Mr. KIM Tai Dong, First Secretary of the Korean Mission.
d. For the time being contents of proceedings should not be released to press and the press officers would be Mr. Shigeru Hirota and Mr. KIM Tai Dong.
(2) The Korean Delegation formally presented the Principles of the Draft Agreement on the Disposition of Property Claims between the Republic of Korea and Japan as per ANNEX II, which would be explained from the next session.
(3) In this connection, it was agreed that both Delegations would retain the right to make proposals or additional proposals.
(4) It was decided that the next (second) session would be convened from 10:00 February 23rd (Saturday), 1952, at the Conference Room of the Foreign Ministry.
