Dear Mr. President,
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your kind letter dated August 8th, 1958, regarding the fate of the fifty-seven Japanese women and children hospitalized in Aliens Charity Home in Pusan. I should indeed be very grateful to you for such a trouble your Society took in giving me very detailed information and materials with regard to them. I also understood quite well and appreciate very much the benevolent attitude of your Government which I never doubted.
We are now considering to ask your Society to kindly give further assistance to them in order that they can repatriate to Japan with their children according to their wish which is only natural. But before doing it, I shall sound, first, the opinion of the Japanese Government in order that their repatriation could be smoothly and humanely carried out.
I shall, of course, not fail to inform you the outcome of this consultation together with our concrete proposal and after learned your opinion about it, we shall decide the executive plan. As, however, it might take some time to prepare it, I wish to send you this interim report to express our gratitude for your very valuable assistance.
May I take this opportunity to reiterate the wish for the prosperity of your noble Society.
