I met with Asian Affairs Director Izeki of Japanese Foreign Ministry this afternoon September 29.
Item 1. Pursuant to the Government cables FTB-164 and 181, I exchanged conversations again with Mr. Izeki at this meeting regarding Legal Status of Korean residents in Japan on basis of Government instructions Oijung (A) No.1910. So, conversations were exchanged smoothly, details of which will be reported to the Government via next pouch. This sort of informal meeting will be held as often as possible. It is also agreed from technical reason that the twentieth meeting of Committee on Legal Status of Korean residents which had been scheduled to be held on September 30 would be postponed until after the return to Tokyo of Dr. Chin O Yu.
Item 2. As Japanese side wants to start the functioning of THE FISHERIES COMMITTEE after October 8 due to the U.S.- Japan tuna fishery conference presently under way, it is expected that various Committees of the overall talks would start their works after October 8.
