The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea presents his to the Chilean Representative to the United Nations Commission for the Unification and Rehabilitation of Korea and has the honour to refer to the several confidential documents regarding the sovereignty of the states over the Continental Waters and defenses of the sea's riches, which the Chilean Representative was so kind to send for the Ministry's information.
The Minister carefully studied with a deep interest the Chilean government position, and found in it similar points of view with those of the Korean government, though the viewpoints of the two countries are not exactly same.
For the Chilean Representative's information, the acting Minister encloses herewith the views of the Korean government on the Draft Articles on the Continental Shelf and Related Subjects Which was prepared by the United Nations International Lew Commission at its fifth session in 1953. The acting Minister would appreciate it very much if the Chilean Representative would be kind enough to transmit the enclosure to his Government.
