FIFTH PLENARY SESSION OF THE FOURTH KOREA-JAPAN OVERALL TALKS
1, Time and place: From 3:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on April 30, 1958, at Room 311 of the Japanese Foreign Ministry
2. Conferees:
The Korean side : Same as in the previous session
The Japanese : Same as in the previous session
3. Gist of talks:
DR. SAWADA:
Shall we confirm the summary record of the 4th plenary session of the Fourth Korea-Japan Overall Talks?

AMB. LIMB:
Then, Mr. Choi, Korean officer responsible for drafting the summary record for the Korean side, will read our version of the summary record of the 4th Plenary Session

DR. SAWADA:
Shall we confirm the summary record of the 4th Plenary Session?
AMB. LIMB
Yes, it is confirmed.
DR. SAWADA:
With regard to the composition of committees. our delegation is still studying it. Of course, I took note of the observation made by Amb. Limb in this regard. I express my hope that this matter be concluded and settled as soon as possible. However, we are not in a position to inform you of our final decision on this matter today. As soon as we finish studying it, we will approach your side.
AMB. LIMB:
I understand your statement. However, the delay on the part of the Japanese side gives us difficulties. Therefore, I would like to renew my request that the Japanese side finish studying it as quickly as possible so that actual work could be started from next session.
AMB. LIMB:
Press reports in Korea commented on the Korea-Japan talks to the effest that the Japanese side is not showing sincerity in organising committees. Therefore, we would like to clear difficulties away by speedy works of this talks as soon as possible.
DR. SAWADA:
We reciprocate your sentiment. Therefore, we will approach your side as soon as our side finishes studying it. It is my serious concern and desire to settle this matter as quickly as possible.
AMB. LIMB:
shall we decade the date for next plenary session?
DR. SAWADA:
We are now in a golden week, what we called. Our side needs two or three days more to study the Korean proposal. I hope that our side will give you a final answer by the next session. How about holding next plenary session on May 6, 1958?
AMB. LIMB:
It seems all right.
AMB. LIMB:
How about 3 p.m.?
DR. SAWADA:
No objection.
AMB. LIMB:
At that time, I hope we will see final, decision on this matter.
