At 11:30 a.m. on December 19, deputy chief delegate met the Japanese Chief Delegate Sawada at his Office.
The gist of talks is as follows:
Item 1. At the meeting, I said that the Korean side has no objection to the proposal on a temporary recess from December 20, 1958 until January 25, 1959, stating his remarks made at the meeting between him and Ambassador Limb and myself at 11 a.m. on December to that he would exercise every effort to bring about an early solution of pending problems, when the talks are resumed on January 26, 1959. No confirmed what he stated at the yesterday's meeting.
Item 2. With regard to the matter of holding a plenary session I stated that, taking into consideration of words made at yesterday meeting, Korean side would not insist on holding of such a plenary session at this stage, Item 3. Thus it has been agreed that the talks will enter into a temporary recess from December 20, 1958 until January 25, 1959 and it has been confirmed that Committee or Sub-committee will be resumed from January 26, 1958 as scheduled.
