The 8th Session of the Sub-committee on other Claims regarding art objects was held at 1030 a.m. on November 15th at the Japanese Foreign Ministry. The next meeting will be held at 1030 a.m. on November 22nd.
At today's meeting, the Japanese side stated that it was not in a position to enter into substantial discussions yet, as the contemplated meeting of the high authorities including Premier Kishi to decide the basic policy regarding this matter and other of Korea-Japan Conference had to be postponed due to the reasons of internal political difficulties.
Reiterating our position regarding the return of art objects, our side requested that the Japanese side should expedite the works of the Sub-committee by entering into substantial discussions at the earliest possible date. The Japanese side replied that it wished to have the decision of its basic policy on art objects made as soon as possible following the settlement of the present internal political difficulties.
