A narrow passage connects the entrance to the main chamber of Susahn-ri Tomb. These entrance passages generally feature mighty warriors (Musa; literally “martial artist”) or gatekeepers (Yeoksa; literally “strong man”) to safely protect the tomb. Depictions of gatekeepers appear symmetrically on both the eastern and western walls of the entrance passage. Although the gatekeeper on the eastern wall is in a well-preserved state, the gatekeeper on the opposite eastern wall is difficult to discern due to severe deterioration. The edges of the wall are colored in a dark brown with arabesque vine patterns to create a frame.
