Moon on the ceiling of the antechamber (western wall)
zoom

This is a detailed view of the moon on the ceiling of the antechamber (western wall) in Tokhung-ri Tomb. As Koguryo tomb ceilings were generally spaces used to symbolize the sky and the heavens, the eastern side of the ceiling in Tokhung-ri Tomb features the sun, and the western side depicts the moon each superimposed with images of a three-legged crow and a toad, respectively.
The depiction of the moon in the image contains a beetle-like toad in its center. The impressive workmanship of the near-perfect circle seems as if it was drawn using a compass.
