This is a detailed view of Bakui on the ceiling of the antechamber (northern wall) in Tokhung-ri Tomb. Eighteen auspicious animals are depicted on the ceiling of the antechamber in Tokhung-ri Tomb. The Heavenly Horse, Jichuk, Cheonjak, Byeokdok, Bakui, Hajo, Yeongyang, Huewon, and an unidentified auspicious animal appear on the northern wall.
Bakui is similar to a goat in shape, yet it has four ears on its head. The inscription next to Bakui describes the auspicious animal as having four ears on its head. The Bakui in the image matches the descriptions in Shanhaijing or the Classics of Mountains and Seas. Legends claim that Bakui can eliminate anxiety and fear. The brown and green spots on Bakui's body convey the mystique of an auspicious animals.
