This is a detailed view of the frame that surrounds the gatekeeper on the eastern wall of the entrance passage in Susahn-ri Tomb. This frame is regarded to be a door frame in the wooden house depicted in the murals of Susahn-ri Tomb. Depictions of columns, braces, and supports in the murals of Susahn-ri tomb mimic architectural elements used in real-world wooden buildings.
The frame is dark brown in color, and black oddly-shaped cloud patterns can be seen superimposed over the frame. These vine-like patterns laid over the frame are reminiscent of multi-colored decorations seen on traditional Korean wooden buildings. Interestingly, this door frame also functions much like a frame for modern-day paintings.
