It is called Burning Ice because it is billed as the future clean energy resource. It offers a rich fishing ground as warm and cold ocean currents meet in waters off Dokdo, bringing plentiful plankton for the fish to feed on. Deep ocean water found deep below the surface of the ocean is free of microorganisms and rich with minerals.
