Lim Won-jae | Forced mobilization to the Mitsubishi Nagasaki Shipyard in 1942
zoom

Lim Won-jae was born in Hwasu-ri, Inji-myeon, Seosan-gun County, Chungcheongnam-do Province in 1922. He was conscripted in April 1942 at the age of 23 and mobilized to the Mitsubishi Shipyard in Nagasaki Prefecture. At the shipyard, he mainly ran small errands due to being unable to speak Japanese. The frequent bombings on Nagasaki led to a great loss of life, and Mr. Lim was also wounded on his eyes and lower back.
