This is a detailed view of the cloud patterns depicted on the southern wall of the main chamber in Susahn-ri Tomb. Generally, cloud patterns that appear in tomb murals are depicted together with the Sun, Moon, and Stars motif to illustrate the heavenly world.
Interestingly, these cloud patterns in the image appear not on the ceiling, but near people in the scene depicting the noble couple's residential lives. These celestial cues indicate that the tomb space inhabited by the noble couple and their servants is no longer of the real world and belongs to the afterlife.
The cloud is expressed in a very stylized manner. It's rendered in yellow, white, and black with a black ink outline. These cloud patterns enhance the auspicious atmosphere of the main chamber.
