The auspicious animal in the image resembles the Beast-faced Ethereal Bird and is speculated to be Man-se (literally ten thousand years). Man-se is typically paired with Cheon-chu (literally a thousand autumns) and symbolizes longevity. Man-se is an auspicious animal that appears frequently in Daoist murals. Cement repairs can be seen on the right side edge of the wall.
