Title | Eastern Wall of the Eastern Gallery - Procession - Bugler | ||
---|---|---|---|
This is a detailed view of the mounted standard-bearer depicted on the eastern gallery wall in Anak Tomb No. 3. This figure can be seen at the very tail end of the procession carrying a long red banner. A cavalryman riding a Heuktoma (black stallion) while carrying a single-tier Jeol (ceremonial flag featuring pompons) can also be seen just above the standard-bearer. Both men are wearing standard military attaché attire. They are wearing military attaché Chaeks, Jeogoris (traditional Korean upper garment), and trousers. Notably, the manes of their horses are tied up with red straps. A diverse range of banners appear in Anak Tomb No. 3. These banners enhance the majesty and splendor of the procession.
