Title | Eastern Wall of the Eastern Gallery - Procession | ||
---|---|---|---|
This is a detailed view of the mounted lancers depicted on the eastern gallery wall in Anak Tomb No. 3. These cavalrymen can be seen near the back of the procession. Koguryo cavalry was divided into light cavalry and heavy cavalry. Only heavy cavalry horses were dressed in helmets and armor. The cavalrymen in the image are light cavalry without any armor. Red tassels can be seen on the lances. These figures are wearing military attaché Chaeks, Jeogoris (traditional Korean upper garment), and trousers.
