Title | Eastern Wall of the Eastern Gallery - Procession – Mounted Standard-Bearer | ||
---|---|---|---|
This is a detailed view of the standard-bearers depicted on the eastern gallery wall in Anak Tomb No. 3. Each soldier is wearing a military attaché Chaek (headwear with a cone-shaped point). Standard-bearers carry banners to prominently display the identity and high status of the nobleman in the procession. Seven banners appear in total, of which the black banner bearing the inscription "His Majesty's Banner" is located in the center. The four banners toward the front are made of white cloth while the two directly behind are red. These lines of standard-bearers enhance the majesty and splendor of the procession.
